I am an advisor to SAHI BHAI of Puri. On 3rd October,2021 associated myself in plantation program of plants in the Bada Danda of Puri. The plantation was done from Badasankha to Gundicha ghara. The plantation of 50 plants were planted in the left stretch of Badasankha to Gundicha ghara.
The above named two environmentalists on 29th December 2022 went to the spot to record as to how many trees are surviving.The purpose was to see more trees to be added to earth by involving the shopkeepers, (Community).
We were very serious to see that the plants planted are to be survived. It's our practice to audit in regular intervals and take steps to address .We try to see that the survival rate should be 100% so that in true sense there will be addition of greenery to the planet. It will simultaneously help in combating the effects of global warming. Three trees died. The members of the Sahi Bhai replaced immediately the trees.

Saplings - Mostly Kadamba and a few Baula.
Total saplings distributed- 50.
It was found that 46 Saplings were survived.
Survival Rate. - 92%.
Photo graphs of some of the plants were taken along with the shopkeepers who helped the plants to survive.
It was observed that almost all saplings have normal growth. But, four saplings were uprooted by the adjacent house owners as it blocked their vehicular movement. We both called the shopkeepers adjacent to each shop in the remaining trees and took photos of them standing in front of the trees. They expressed their happiness as their labour to water the plants have helped them to see the satisfactory growth of the plants. We thanked them for their cooperation and it was told that when the community will realise the need of the greenery then we can easily combat the impact of global warming. As there will be no rain in the coming days, arrangements to be made seriously for proper watering as the trees require to be nurtured like a baby child to grow.
It's observed that survival rate is 92%. We will have to see that the same has to be maintained in the coming days without any further casualty. However, Sahi bhai members have assured me to plant further four trees in that stretch to see absolute survival.
Friends it's our findings that if the community would realise that environment is the responsibility of all then we are sure we can overcome the climate crisis.
